FCM MMU

Faculty of Creative Multimedia / Animation

The faculty started close to 15 years ago in 1997 in Melaka. Back then we were known as the Faculty of Media Arts and Science. We soon moved to Cyberjaya in 1999 and adopted a more focused approach to who we are and since then we have become known as the Faculty of Creative Multimedia or FCM.

Bachelor of Multimedia (Hons): (Animation and Visual Effects)
Upon the completion of the project, Film and Animation students are expected to understand the process of producing an animation work that is in sync with a good design sense and the scope of digital animation. Students will also be exposed to the ideas of developing their contents to be more aesthetically valued, varied and original. Throughout the production process, students will develop their technical skill and artistic understanding in storytelling and animation groomed to become a three-dimensional (3D) animation artist.

The main purpose of the faculty is to drive creativity in many emerging fields in the creative content industry here in Malaysia. As such, we have developed several exciting degrees (all accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency) both at undergraduate and graduate level to address the ever growing need for creativity and innovation. The common thread that holds these degrees together is the understanding and use of design. In today’s fast-paced environment, design has become a value-added tool that has provided product and service differentiation.

With the proper guidance and engagement from our experienced staff, students from FCM have enriched the lives of the Malaysian society for over a decade. This is evident by the many successes of our alumni who have become captains in the creative industries in Malaysia. Through them acting as role models for future graduates, the faculty hopes to push the boundaries of creativity to new levels. This can only be achieved through the passion and commitment of our highly skilled staff and our partnership with the creative industries and reputable institutes of higher learning in Malaysia and around the world.
